Financial hardship options

We appreciate that these are hard times for many, so we have introduced some new financial hardship options to help customers who really need it the most. A brief summary of these options is outlined below:

Downgrade your plan (PetCare policies only)

You can reduce premiums by downgrading to a plan with a lower level of cover for up to 6 months. Claims for treatment dates during the downgrade period will be paid at the lower benefit level. If during or at the end of the 6 month downgrade period your financial circumstances improve and you choose to upgrade back to your original plan any pre-existing conditions that your pet had cover for at the time of downgrade, and any new developed conditions, will be covered to this higher benefit level.

Put your policy on-hold

You can put your policy on hold for one, two or three months. While your policy is on-hold, you won’t need to pay your pet insurance premiums. However, you will not be able to claim for eligible treatment received by your pet during the time that your policy is on-hold. Once you reach the end of your chosen on-hold period, any pre-existing conditions that your pet previously had cover for and any new developed conditions will be covered.
