When can I use Pet Easy-claim and how long does it take?

Pet Easy-Claim is available between 9:30am-4:30pm on business days (excluding public holidays in Auckland) with claims assessed within 30 minutes during this time.

Your vet practice will ask you to complete an authorisation form so that they can claim on your behalf, and we assess the claim and let both you and your vet practice know what we'll cover under your policy, and what you need to pay them direct.

Why does my vet not offer Pet Easy-Claim?

If your regular vet practice doesn't offer Pet Easy-Claim yet, check again soon or you can use our search option above to look for another Pet Easy-Claim provider in your area. Otherwise, you can still claim online in the usual way.

What will I need to pay?

Once we've assessed the claim, we'll email both you and your vet practice with confirmation of the amount we'll pay to your vet practice, and the remaining balance that you'll need to pay them.

The amount you'll need to pay your vet will be made up of any annual excess you haven't yet paid, your co-payment or any treatment costs greater than your annual benefit limit (or sub-limit for cruciate ligaments). You will also need to pay any part of your claim that isn't covered under your policy.

What if my claim is declined?

If your claim is declined, you'll need to pay your vet directly for the cost of your pet's healthcare.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of your claim and would like us to review our decision, you can email us on [email protected] .
