Trusted to pay claims
We’re pet owners ourselves, so we know how important it is that your pet gets quality care. That’s why we’ve focused on making it ‘easy-as’ to claim for vet treatment costs - so you can be confident we’ll be there when you and your pet need us.
Vet visits can be ruff, but claiming shouldn’t be. With Pet Easy-Claim, our partner vets can claim on your behalf.
We pay them directly, so you only need to cover the remaining balance. That means less admin, less money out of your pocket, and more time for belly rubs.

Online claiming
If you’d rather pay up-front and claim yourself, that’s easy too and only takes a few minutes.
Just make sure you get your receipt and the relevant vet records when you pay for treatment, so you can provide these to us. We’ll reimburse you quicker than your cat’s 4 am zoomies. Our average wait time is just three working days.

Got questions?
We’re all ears (and tails)
If your pet needs treatment, there are some simple ways to understand whether your policy is likely to cover the cost:
-
What plan do I have?
If you’re on the PetCare plan, you’re covered for treatment of illness and accidental injury. If you’re on AcciPet, you’re covered for treatment of accidental injuries only. -
Does your pet need treatment for a pre-existing condition?
Like most pet insurers, we don’t cover treatment of your pet’s pre-existing conditions. These are health conditions any illnesses or injuries (or signs, symptoms or events) that your pet has had before the policy starts, or during a stand down period. -
Is the treatment specifically excluded?
There are some treatments we don’t cover, like day-to-day care (unless you’ve chosen this as an optional extra), congenital conditions or cosmetic treatments like grooming. Check your policy document to find out more.
Remember, every claim has an annual excess and co-payment applied (until the annual excess has been used for that claims year). You can read more about how excess and co-payments work here.
In this initial launch of Pet Easy-Claim, this service is available for claims submitted by Pet Easy-Claim providers between 9.30am – 4.30pm on business days (excluding public holidays in Auckland) and we will assess your claim within 30 minutes during this time.
If your cat or dog needs surgery or major treatment, the vet can submit your claim once costs are confirmed, and before you pick them up. Otherwise, your vet may ask you to wait at the clinic while we assess the claim.
